Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest for Monroe County Students:

Poster Contest Rules

  • This contest is open to all Monroe County youth in grades 4th-12th beginning October 1, 2024.

  • Posters do not need to reflect this year’s Red Ribbon Week theme but must address one of the following substances: Marijuana (THC), Nicotine (vaping, cigarettes, pouches, etc.), Opioids, Prescription Drugs, or Stimulants.

  • All entries must be original creations by the artist submitting them. Digital drawing tools like Procreate are allowed, but design platforms such as Canva, which rely on pre-made elements, are not permitted.

  • Posters must be a minimum size of 18" tall by 24" wide and must use a landscape orientation.

  • Every submission must incorporate the PWC logo and a visible Red Ribbon as part of the design.

  • Prizes:
    1st Place: Your poster will be transformed into a billboard.
    2nd Place: Posters will be printed and displayed in schools.
    3rd Place: Your poster will be transformed or featured in a yearbook ad in all three high schools.

  • By entering this contest, you authorize the PWC to use your poster for any purpose, including but not limited to public display, promotional materials, and media coverage.

  • The deadline for submissions is October 31st. Paper submissions should be turned in to your art teacher, while digital submissions should be emailed to mikaela.mchc@gmail.com.

Voting will take place after Red Ribbon Week concludes, from Nov 4th-8th via Google Forms. The winners will be announced on November 12th.

INTRODUCING THE 2024 NATIONAL RED RIBBON WEEK THEME:

"LIFE IS A MOVIE, FILM DRUG FREE.™"

This creative theme was submitted by Cheryl Holsapfel, Digital Art Teacher, and Devansh Aggarwal from Solon Middle School. It serves as a powerful reminder that ordinary Americans nationwide contribute significantly to their communities every day by embracing a drug-free lifestyle.
