The Monroe County Prevention and Wellness Coalition (PWC) is proud to bring the national “Choices Matter” program to our community as an educational tool for students and parents alike. “Choices Matter”, thanks to a grant with the THSO, is a life-changing program for high school students using personal stories and interactive materials to inspire students to make the right choices while behind the wheel. Our speaker for the events, which will be held at all 3 high schools in the county and at the Monroe County Rescue Squad building on January 20th, 6-8 pm, is Chris Sandy, who will be using his personal story and the perspective of youth to communicate the importance of making the right choices in life, especially those involving alcohol or drugs. The community event is free and open to everyone! Community resources and giveaways will also be available. If you have any questions please call PWC Project Director Gabbie McConkey at 423-545-3015 or via email gabbie.mchc@gmail.com
