To assist in the awareness efforts of International Overdose Awareness Day the Monroe County Prevention Coalition (PWC) is hosting its 2nd Annual ‘Smash The Stigma’ Community Water Balloon Fight on Saturday, August 26th. The start time for the fight will be determined and announced at alter date. Come early to grab a spot and BYOB (balloons, that is). We plan to have food trucks on-site as well as a resource center set up.

To assist in the awareness efforts of International Overdose Awareness Day the Monroe County Prevention & Wellness Coalition is excited to be hosting our 2nd Annual 'Smash The Stigma' Community Water Balloon Fight! The festivities begin at 4 pm and will be concluded by the community water balloon fight which begins at 6:00pm on August 26th. Join us in Memorial Park before the fight for food trucks, resources, and entertainment! The fight will follow the same route as last year down Tellico St, beginning at First United Methodist Church and ending at Memorial Park.

Please note the following information regarding details and guidelines for the parade:

SAFETY GUIDELINES: Please follow these guidelines so everyone has a safe and fun day: 1. Act responsibly 2. Do NOT throw water balloons at police officers, military, elderly, or small children UNLESS they are participating in the parade going down Tellico Street. 3. Water balloon throwing is permitted by all BUT everyone must act responsibly, with a demeanor appropriate for their age. Come with your filled water balloons/water guns ready to go (NO other items will be permissible). 4. ALL those attending MUST stay on the sidewalks at all times when fire and police apparatus are in the street.

By following these simple guidelines, the residents, visitors, and first responders can have a fun, safe, and memorable day smashing the stigma! Join us for this family-friendly, substance-free, community-uniting event, and have a great time.
